Former Ryder Cup Team captain and European Tour professional Paul McGinley has played the course on several occasions. He marvelled at the transformation following an investment of almost €2m around 2007.
PGA and European Tour Professional Shane Lowry, who won the WGC Bridgestone Invitational in 2015, visited the course in late 2013 to play some tough practice shots in the middle of a winter storm.
The first eleven holes are mostly flat and surrounded by picturesque, wooded countryside. The fairways are tree lined and playable all year while meandering streams grace many of the holes.
